It may not be organic to you, but if you have children or pets it is a very fast way to rid yourself of these pests. Besides diesel is a hydrocarbon which classes it in the organic area of organic chem vs inorganic chem. It will break down.
Now to answer your question. Simply get d-limonene

This is known as orange oil. Take citrus peals and soak them in d-limonene. Then dip them in SUGAR and place them by the entrance hole by the fire ants. Make sure the peals are small enough so the ants can take them inside the hive. They will feed them to the queen and each other and soon your hive is gone.
