[MittleiderMethodGardening] Silver Sulfadiazine
While it is true that Silvadene is used in hospitals for burn care it is a imperative to make sure that the recipient is not allergic to sulfa which is also an ingredient. I know there are probably lots of homes with a tube or jar of Silvadene for incidental burns and it is good for that. Just do the allergy check.
The gray color that comes from Silvadene is normal and would normally be washed off and reapplied 2 or 3 times daily as ordered by a Dr. It also has a slight anesthetic effect.
Sincerely,
Kay Turley RN
