[Organic_Gardening] Herbicide residue in compost

An interesting article from Mother Earth news about herbicide residue in
commercial compost. Becareful where you get your compost ingredients and manure
from.

My garden looked like the description in this article this spring. From residue
in the ditch hay we bale for animals and which eventually gets into the compost
or from the spray drift when the hwy dept sprayed the ditches this spring. It if
is the first possibility I am not going to have useable compost for at least two
years. I will have to stop using anything that we have that may have been
sprayed. This years hay was sprayed; last years hay, currently composting as the
manure/litter mix from the barn was sprayed. Any ideas on where to go to get compost
ingredients that aren't contaminated? I already compost all kitchen scraps and
yard and garden waste that is usable. It isn't enough.
