[MittleiderMethodGardening] An Inspiring Example of a Family mittleider Garden In a Difficult Climate!

Friends: May I inspire you with a bit of information about a woman who decided to learn something really worthwhile, and then make a difference in her community?

Troy Carrigan, who lives in Michigan (way up north folks!) decided to attend the week-long live-in Mittleider Gardening Certification Training Boot Camp in Kidde, Missouri a couple of years ago.

She came, she worked hard, learned, (enjoyed it a ton, according to her) and returned home to apply everything she had discovered there..

I've posted pictures of their family garden in the album called Troy Carrigan Mittleider Garden. Just look at these pictures, amazing, wouldn't you say? Troy REALLY followed the RECIPE! And her results speak for themselves.

Last year their family harvested 1,085# of super-healthy and tasty fresh produce from their garden. And this year they have Already harvested 1,089# of produce, with almost 1/2 of the harvest season still to come.

Troy is now teaching other people how to REALLY garden, and making a wonderful, positive impact in her community.

Please folks, consider your extended family, your neighbors, friends, and everyone in your community, and grow a garden that will make a DIFFERENCE!

We all know something that is valuable now, and it will be life-saving in days to come. Let's PAY IT FORWARD as good and responsible stewards!

P. S. Notice picture with all of the arched PVC coverings. It illustrates FOUR ways to protect your plants - small PVC A-Frames over 18" boxes (or beds), larger ones over 4'-wide boxes, 8' arched PVC covering a T-Frame over a single 4'-wide box, and a 12' (?) arched PVC covering an A-Frame structure protecting multiple boxes.

In cool/cold climates you use plastic plus a heat source, and in warm/hot climates you use plastic for rain protection and/or shade cloth for protection against excess heat.

Let's follow the Carrigans' lead and bless the lives of everyone around us with great gardens!

Love and success to you all!
