[MittleiderMethodGardening] Using Diluted Walnut Sawdust
I have been able to find several sources of sawdust in my area, but they all seem to have some walnut in the mix. My question is whether it would be okay if the walnut is diluted among other types of wood sawdust or if any at all will be toxic. It is for a community garden and I would hate to ruin my whole garden, but at the same time we need a lot of saw dust and this source will give it and deliver for free. If this source of sawdust doesn't work then we will have to plant in the soil, which is fine we just have really rocky soil we are working with. I would love the thoughts of more experienced gardeners!
Thank you!
Group: I cannot recommend sawdust with any walnut in it. However, if I were in that situation I would likely get all the free sawdust I could get, then pile it up somewhere away from the garden and let the rain and snow leach it for a couple of years, then try some.
