[MittleiderMethodGardening] line beds up N to S or against the slope?

We are planning to put in our Mittleider beds in the next two days, but when we sat down to plan out the details, we realized that we are unsure how to site the beds.  Our house faces directly NE.  We have a slope from the street down to the house, including the whole the front of our property, where we are planning to put the beds.  Not steep enough to terrace the beds, but steep enough that I am worried that if we face the beds directly N/S that it will channel the rainfall enough to erode.  If we run the beds the same direction as the house, they will run NW to SE, and the first bed closest to the street will channel the rain out from the corners, and cause other erosion issues.

Any ideas how to set this up?  Our front lot planting area is about 70' long by 50' wide, inside a 'box' made by plantings of fruit trees.  We live north of Houston, TX, so will have no shortage of sunny days. We will more likely need to shade plants during the summer than worry about them being too shaded, so I'm not as worried about bed direction as some people might be.

Thanks for any help,
Jenna

Jenna Group:  Run the beds across the slope, so that the planting areas are level.  The direction you plant does NOT matter, but you do need to keep tall plants NORTH or EAST of short plants.
