Re: [MittleiderMethodGardening] Most Questions Are Answered In The Mittleider Gardening Course Book - Study the RECIPE!
I'm again wondering about a gravity feed system, and want to
precalculate some things.
Can you advise the flow rate of a typical 30 ft section of this piping
for the 18" wide bed?

Flow rates are a function of the size pipe that brings your water to the beds as well as the water pressure, so it's not easy to give that to you bill. What I can say is that a garden of 12 - 30'-long beds were watered from a spring that went into a holding tank just a few feet above the garden. The water was gravity fed. They could only water one or two beds (I can't remember how many actually), but they had an amazing garden - in a hot climate, and it was grown in Blow Sand.

Several items have been misunderstood.
1) The soil-beds or Grow-Boxes talked about in the Gardening Course
book are 18" wide. (Instructions would be different for 4'-wide boxes)
2) Holes are drilled in the pipe using a #57 drill bit. This is very
important. It is a "wire bit", and can be purchased online or at hobby
shops and Ace Hardware stores. Online is much cheaper than the other
alternatives. Do NOT us a 1/16th inch bit!
3) The holes are drilled at 12 o'clock, 1:30 and 3:00, constituting a
total of 90 degrees - NOT the 180 degrees you stated.
4) LDS Prepper does everything under my instruction, and his videos are
excellent sources of instruction. The Gardening course book simply did
not address 4'-wide boxes.
