Re: [MittleiderMethodGardening] Where are you wanting to be long-term? I've found where I want to be!

12 years ago we were led to NW Missouri and found a 99 acre farm for sale at $2,500 per acre.  We offered $40 per acre and they took it (Do NOT hope to replicate this experience today!! - JK).  We have 2 deep large ponds, a creek and a small pond.  No public utilities but we manage just fine.  While neighbors are few and far between, they are awesome neighbors!   I'm up in northern Harrison county and we have set up many barter groups and totally changed the local economy.  Missouri isn't perfect and I've been here long enough to know so folks just can't handle the country life or unwilling to change to fit in.  But if you are living in the big city and want to escape then maybe you should come on out to Jim's school and spend some extra exploring the area.

Between  Jim's classes and this area you'll have much to ponder once you get back home!

Group: I discovered something very interesting yesterday! I'll share just the bare basics of it with you here, for any who are concerned with where "things" are going around us and worried about your long-term safety. There is a place - not only of refuge but of opportunity - and it is right  in the center of the country.

Imagine a safe place where you can purchase good farm land for less than $5,000 per acre; where you can build a great home for $100,000; where you can heat and cool that home for less than $100 per month; where taxes are a small fraction of those in most cities; and where constitutional laws are still upheld and respected.

Northwestern Missouri is that place, and there are many other blessings and benefits to living there as well. Proximity to an international airport and a big city (50 miles) are minor added bonuses.

Can you imagine getting a one-acre building lot with ALL utilities in place for less than $15,000? A quarter acre lot for less than $10,000? - And several have access to a deep-water pond for free irrigation water. A small town/rural atmosphere may be boring to some, but to others wise enough to flee the rapidly approaching storm it is truly a haven and refuge.

A wonderful man of vision, recently beset with debilitating health problems related to age, has devoted 18 years to creating this idyllic spot.  Now it just needs good people who will build, to make it really special

We are opening a School of Preparedness next spring in the same community. Come, and see for yourselves. And meanwhile, think seriously about your long-term preps.
