Vegetables Gardening - Growing Organic Vegetables

The following 40 years saw Jacob and his intrepid wife Mildred create 75 gardening training projects in 27 countries, and change the health and the very lives of millions of people.  Even the economies of countries were impacted in many places as a result of their great work.

Of course the centerpiece of his work was plant nutrition, which led to much better human nutrition.

At the request of a world-famous Doctor we conducted a 4-month training project at the University del Cauca in Popayan, Colombia for the very same reason.  Dr. Alfonso Tenorio was traveling the world lecturing on the connection between poor nutrition and leprosy, tuberculosis, and malaria.  And when he was home he was working on creating a healthy garden, using all of the popular gardening "methods" he could find, but without success for 11 years!.

When he discovered the Mittleider system of growing he was so excited that he arranged to have us come and teach at "his" University.  We also created the best garden he had ever experienced at his own home.

One of the professors asked if he could conduct an experiment using the Mittleider fertilizer regimen as compared to two fertilizing programs they taught and used at the Agriculture College there.  There is a picture in the Photos section of the Group site that illustrates the results.  After a few weeks the professor begged me to let them use the Mittleider fertilizers on their beds.
