Vegetables Gardening - Growing Organic Vegetables

Jim,

What do you recommend to use for those of us like the person in Texas who gardens year-round and have freezing temps like in zone 8b? I have not put the pvc in yet but was also wondering about this. We are in the Florida panhandle and although we do not normally suffer the size hail Texas is famous for, we do freeze frequently in the winter. Since winter gardening is ideal for us- not many bugs or diseases, it would be great to have a good watering solution.

The PVC watering system is excellent, no matter where you live. The only thing you need to do is to make sure the main line pipes have a drain valve installed at the low end, so they don't freeze. The pipes that are running above your beds have no water in them, so they can be left as-is.
