[MittleiderMethodGardening] How does drought factor in?
Jim,
Austin Tx has had exceptional drought conditions in 2011 and the weather folks are saying 2012 will be more of the same. 2011 rainfall totals were 16.90 versus average of 32 inches. Gypsum for preplant or continue with limestone? The ph is typically around 7
Thanks Greg
zone 8b
Greg & Group:
Gypsum is pH neutral, because it has almost equal amounts of calcium (which raises pH) and sulfur (which LOWERS pH).
So you can use gypsum without risk. Only if your pH is BELOW 7 would you want to use lime.
