Vegetables Gardening - Growing Organic Vegetables

This year has been an odd year for squashes. Normally by June I'd be
drowning in squash, but they just started producing, and producing very
slowly, in August. Tons of male flowers... made a lot of nice squash
blossom fritters. And some of the female squash would be forming fruit and
not blossoming, therefore just withering away to nothing...

On another one of my e-groups, people from all over North America had been
complaining about this very thing. It has been indeed unseasonably cool for
Silicon Valley with foggy nights in the mid-50's all summer. I finally have
some tomatoes ripening even though the green fruits have been sitting on the
vines for a loooong time. Only thing that's doing well are the cherry
tomatoes.
