Re: [MittleiderMethodGardening] Are We Still Gardening?
We are going strong here in Southern California also. Three days ago I
picked over 200 tomatoes, next day 90, today 70. Help, am drowning in
tomatoes and my neighbors won't answer the door.
Mildew is on a rampage here with our warm days and very cool nights.
Perfect weather for mildew. We are spraying wettable sulfur on tomatoes every
two weeks which keeps them mildew free. Half strength of the same stuff
keeps squash mildew free also. And the wettable sulfur is dirt cheap. Most
grapes you eat have been sprayed with sulfur. Tomatoes from our central
valley are dusted with sulfur dust.
Wettable sulfur as a spray is easier than dusting.
Anyone have a better cure for mildew on cucumbers. The leaves do not like
sulfur and Green Cure has to be sprayed every three days minimum.

Still going strong here in Belton, TX. My second planting of beans and

planted on 7/3 are coming in strong. Peppers are going nuts same with my

and melons. It also looks like I may get a second crop of rasberries and
black
berries.

Subject: [MittleiderMethodGardening] Are We Still Gardening?
Seems like we had that mountain woman looking for help, and then no more
activity here. Gardening has slowed down in the Houston area, tomato vines
are brown and crispy. Almost time to plant for fall garden though!
Incidentally, I no longer mix in the Epsom Salts in the weekly feed
formula‹I add it last minute each week‹because it is the cause of the
total
liquifaction of the fertilizer. Makes a nasty mess in this climate for
sure.
