[MittleiderMethodGardening] automatic watering for 18 X 30 soil beds
I've been watering with a hose and want to install the pvc system. Can you tell me how many beds I can water at one time? (I have 10, my psi is about 50 lbs from a private well)
Can this system use the threaded connectors so it can be removed when time to till?
I plan on screwing on a hose (for now) to get water from the hydrant to the garden.
Any other suggestions I haven't thought of will be gladly accepted.
Thanks

What is the size of pipe that is your header into the garden? If coming through a garden hose you will probably only be able to water one bed at a time.
If you have a 1" line with some pressure you can water several rows at a time.
In my Zoo garden I have a 2" line in the creek, with a 5 horse Honda pump pushing water into another 2" line as main header and 1 1/2" lines as headers for each of 5 sets of 25 beds. I can water most of the 25 beds all at once.
And in my backyard garden in Alabama I only have a garden hose, with water from the house - and the main line into the house is ONLY 3/4" - so again, I can only water one bed at a time.
You just have to try it out to see how many it will do.
