Re: [MittleiderMethodGardening] Re: 16-16-16
Corpus Christi, Texas has 13-13-13 for $16 at Home Depot local store. That's as
good as it gets here as my local Wal-Mart only carries Scott Miracle Grow and it
is the most expensive on the shelf. Just remember that 13-13-13 means..
13%-13%-13% = 39% fertilizer chemicals and 41% fillers (61% - JK). When pricing one
fertilizer against another of different percentages against the price divide the
total fertilizer chemical percentage into the price of each bag (and its
weight).
Example: A 40 lb bag of 39% is 15.6 lbs of fertilizer. If it costs $16 your
fertilizer is about $1.04 a lb.
A 40 lb bag of 11-11-11 (33%) is 13.20 lbs of $16 fertilizer or
about $1.31 a lb.
Sometimes we pay more if it's all the options available to us. If you get it
cheaper, stock up and keep it in a dry place for next year when it can become
much higher.

Walmart in Columbus Ohio area does not carry any of the recommended. I found
12-12-12 at the Tractor Supply Co.. I would assume Dayton Oh area Tractor Supply
would also have it.
