[MittleiderMethodGardening] Watch out for Potato Blight!

Kturley in Idaho and group:

Potato Blight Fungi is back!!! No matter your general gardening methods... keep you soil very clean this year. Burn diseased plant material and don't add it to your compost pile.

Do not plant Russets with any white spots on the tubers. Like Fungi in general, the unseen treads are deep into the potato until it rots
from the inside out. It will infect your soil for years to come.

If you are in a no-burn area, double wrap the plant material in plastic and put it in the trash pick up. The spores can live a very long time.

The flooding and excess rain this year in many parts of the country is contributing to the Blight on Russets.
