[MittleiderMethodGardening] Successfully Mixing and Using Weekly Feed Mix - Without it Getting Wet!
Group:
Most of you are likely using Epsom Salt as your source of Magnesium, and it is causing you some grief - namely your Weekly Feed wants to get wet and sticky, because it contains 7 parts water for each one part magnesium.
This does NOT affect its potency, nor its usefulness, but it DOES make it miserable to use.
Therefore, let's give you a couple of possible solutions:
1. Replace the magnesium sulfate (MgSO4.7H2O) with magnesium sucrate or magnesium oxide, etc. You'll have to buy your Mg in 50# bags, but you can use 1/2 as much in your mixes, both Pre-Plant and Weekly Feed.
2. When using Epsom Salt add 1# of Perlite to 60# of Weekly Feed Mix. Perlite absorbs a tremendous amount of water, and so will stop the mix from getting wet and creating a mess.
