Round up has killed most of our thistles. It has not, even at 2x strength and multiple sprayings worked on Red Pigweed(aka Spiny Amaranth), Horse Nettle and some other items.

We just bought a rocket stove from StoveTec. A rocket stove is a type of stove that completely burns its fuel instead of allowing much of the fuel to go up in smoke. If a fire makes white or grey smoke, there is too much oxygen. It the smoke is darker being gray or black, there is too much fuel/incomplete fuel burn. Rocket stoves should leave very little to no smoke.

We boil water and add 1 or 2 gallons of boiling water. For us, it takes 3 to 6 applications to kill a fire ant bed. We have 90 acres here and plan on using the stove to kill most of the fire ants, many weeds. It helps to have abundant weedy plants and trees to use as fuel.

To find the stove on the internet just Google Stovetec or rocket stove. Ours cost $119 including delivery. That cost will be paid back in the first 2 weeks of use by not buying RoundUp & insecticides.
