RE: [MittleiderMethodGardening] Forced Asparagus

You will need to let them grow for more than one season to get much of a
harvest. Also, asparagus likes to spread their roots out and feed deeply.
I doubt five gallon buckets would be big enough, but 15's might. Bernie

Subject: [MittleiderMethodGardening] Forced Asparagus

I was thinking of planting about five 5 gallon buckets of asparagus.

My thoughts were to grow them outside till fall, let them die back from the
cold and then after a month or two take them into my heated greenhouse.
Maybe have asparagus in February instead of May.

Anybody done this?

Thanks in advance for the Information
