Vegetables Gardening - Growing Organic Vegetables

I was thinking of planting about five 5 gallon buckets of asparagus.

My thoughts were to grow them outside till fall, let them die back from the cold and then after a month or two take them into my heated greenhouse. Maybe have asparagus in February instead of May.

Anybody done this?
