[MittleiderMethodGardening] Zucchini bush or vine spacing
Does it matter whether the zucchini is bush or vine for planting 18" to 21" apart?
If I grow the vine zucchini up, then am I planting it not in the middle of a row, but near the side so it will latch onto what I'm having it trellis up?
Also, if I am going 4' wide not 18" wide, then it would be right to plant 2 across, right?
Thanks for help on this...

All zucchini are bush, or determinate, and will NOT climb. We still recommend you stake and tie them or guide them up baling twine strings to keep them off the ground and use less space.
They should only be planted in one row, on one side of an 18"-wide bed or box. This makes weeding, feeding, watering, etc. easier.
In a 4'-wide box you plant two rows, with each row 8-10" in from the outside edge of the box.
Planting 18" apart requires more diligent pruning of leaves, and 21" is recommended, unless you are desperate for more zucchini.
