No problem with treated lumber. I researched it a few years ago when I was building some raised beds, and studies have shown that the chemical does not leak into the soil.

Can somebody please help me out? I am trying, after several years of being part of this group, to really put together my first garden.
I have purchased both the book and my online manuals however, I cannot seem to locate either of them right now!
I actually don't even know if this post will be able to hit our board, since I'm not sure if this yahoo group still exists.
my two biggest questions right now are if it is OK to use below ground pressure treated timber in order to build my grow boxes. I plan on building some of the 4 foot boxes and a couple of the 18 inch boxes.
My second question is, since I don't have ready access to any sawdust, what other recommended soil substrates have been put forth. I have used coconut choir with Pete Moss and vermiculite in the past, with varying degrees of success. Additional guidance as to some of the cheaper forms to use would be nice as well since I'm planning on building most of these around 30 feet long.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
Bob
