[MittleiderMethodGardening] blossom end rot
I am applying weekly feed formula, but the tomatoes in my sun room are still getting blossom end rot, and the leaves on my dwarf lemon tree are mottled with lighter green instead of being deep green like they were last year. The leaves keep falling on the tree too. What am I doing wrong?
Ester & Group:
Blossom-end rot is often a symptom of calcium deficiency. It's possible that a boron deficiency at the time of fruit ripening can also contribute. And uneven watering - often exacerbated by extreme heat - can also contribute.
How long have your tomatoes been in the ground? If it's been over 2 months you should give them another feeding of the PRE-PLANT MIX. Weekly Feed does NOT have any calcium in it.
Are you maintaining temperatures below 95? With nighttime temps below 80? How often are you watering? How is the drainage - for both tomatoes and lemon tree? Water daily, but don't let them stand in water.
Try some Pre-Plant on your lemon tree also, and if that doesn't bring quick improvement give it an ounce of Epsom Salt.
