[Organic_Gardening] Acid for weed control??

Hello --
Jim in Zone 9 southeast Florida here seeking suggestions on how I might safely kill off some of our tough little weeds down here. Last year I lost a whole plot of peppers to Nut grass which is impossible to pull up b/c it leaves a little "nut" behind about 5 inches down and just re-grows thicker and thicker. I would have had to dig up the whole plot to get 'em and that would've smoked the peppers.

I've seen posts online about using vinegar and/or dishsoap but can only find the weak 5% acetic acid version. There are some that refer to distilling or evaporating it down to greater strength but that could get messy and corrode stuff if done inside.

Anyone ever tried to use Muriatic acid?? It's 10% acid already, but I'm concerned about what it may leave behind in the soil because I really don't know what it's manufactured from.

Thanks all!
