[MittleiderMethodGardening] Uses for powdered milk
Friends:
Mix powdered milk with water according to package directions and dilute the
result as follows: 3 gallons milk to 17 gallons of water (for pasture). Other
dilutions are 1:4. It seems pretty flexible. Then spray on your vegetable garden
to improve the soil fertility. Might be a good use for really strong smelling
uncertain-age milk powder that you don't want to drink.
Folks doing pasture raised critters have been spraying their fields with raw
milk diluted as above to increase the BRIX level in the grass. The speculation
is that the milk sugar is giving the microbes a boost. For more information do a
google search on: milk as fertilizer. Lots of results.
