[MittleiderMethodGardening] Slug Attack? How To Control?

Bhavani,

I don't know what sorts of products are available in Hyderabad but I am
aware of one here called Sluggo (or Escar-go) that works fairly well. Ortho
also came out with a similar product called ecosense slug & snail killer
here in the U.S. It's basically iron phosphate 1% in a base of attractant.
If you are do-it-yourself minded, extra yeasty bread dough made with beer
should work well if you can't find the pre-made product but can make dough
and find iron phosphate (should be at garden or farm supply stores). When
your iron phosphate 1% dough is mixed, chop into small pieces (2-4mm) and
dry in a warm (not hot) place, then sprinkle around the plants. The slugs
stop feeding after they eat it and die within a few days. It is pretty
non-toxic to non-slugs (including things that would eat dead or dying slugs)
and biodegrades within a couple of weeks, and is even good for plants in
general.
Here's a link that might be useful, it is non-commercial.
