[MittleiderMethodGardening] Summer Squassh?
Melons, cucumbers and squashes including pumpkins seem to cross-pollinate and some funny fruits can happen. I plant them as far away from each other as possible where a traveling but wouldn't be likely to visit one flower right after the other; making sure that if they have to be close to each other it's a pair of similar tasting squashes together or similar melons together. I've had butternut squash and watermelon and pumpkin too close together, zuchini and summer squash produce a green and yellow hybrid that's off tasting, etc. Cucumbers nearby make the squash or melons taste "off". Plant them around the corner from each other or with other stuff in between and no problems.
