I would like to suggest to the group that the purchase of a couple of
dehydrators is a great investment because the excess tomatoes, peas,
corn, beans, potatoes etc can be dried and dry packed in quart jars and
vacuum sealed. I use small brown coin envelopes with a full tablespoon
full of Silica Gel in that envelope to maintain moisture control within
the jar. I have also purchased a small vacuum pump like AC service men
use to pump down an AC unit to pump out the air in my Ball/Mason jars.
I have perfected this process and will share with the group if there is
any interest. I do have photos that I can upload on the process.
