[Organic_Gardening] Composting
Composting for me constitutes using available organic material in a way that is double for Mel. As a kid I dug a hole and buried leaves and grass clippings. I planted banana squash the next spring. It worked well. Working in an insect research laboratory I had access to used and autoclaved insect rearing media. I rota-tilled the media into a garden row. The last thing I did was lasagna gardening. This is very similar to Jeff's composting in garden rows. I did a cold compost and because manure was not available I added Ironite and triple 13 to feed the compost. I planted small cull red onions in the fall and harvested 3 to 6 green onions as needed through the fall and winter.
