IO Groups was created by the same Mark Fletcher who created yahoo, then left when he saw its owners botch it up. I am in many and own a few that went to IO. Noone has any yahoo-similar complaints there. It works or Mark will know AND IMMEDIATELY REPAIR the reason why.

No ads. No "sharing of info w 2nd parties, muchless 3rd parties.

Jim could opt to link it with FaceBook. Some folks just won't DO FaceBook and many won't do Google groups... privacy issues.
