[MittleiderMethodGardening] Planting a Fall Garden - Now's The Time!!

What plants should you plant in your garden, and how big should your garden be? There's a really good Schedule in the Mittleider Gardening Course book called the Extended Season Sample Garden Plan, and it gives suggestions for planting an early spring garden, a summer garden, and a fall garden, all in the same space.

And it shows how much food you can produce. It's amazing! You can literally feed a family on less than 1/20th of an acre!

The Extended Season Sample Garden Plan schedule is on page 263. You'll love it.Spring and Fall portions of the Sample Garden Plan, and choose the plants you will eat.

By the way, if you will learn to prune the leaves from many of your plants and eat them regularly, instead of waiting to harvest the entire plant all at once at maturity, you will magnify your yields many times over.

Examples of excellent plants to grow this time of year are celery, chard, kale, peas, spinach, onions, and cabbage.  We eat from the same plant for 9 months +.  Look at the Sample Garden Plan for other examples.

And be sure to implement the lesson on growing in cold weather - found on pages 213 - 229.
