[MittleiderMethodGardening] Mittleider Growers Needed to Teach Mittleider System in Penang, Malaysia

Group:

We are being asked to help establish The Mittleider System of food production in Malaysia, by sending competent Mittleider growers to train local farmers in this system of growing.  The details are included below in a couple of posts from Ms. Jean Adamson, who runs another Charitable Foundation.  Anyone with the experience and availability to take on this great adventure is invited to call or write to me directly 801-915-4449 or jim@growfood.com.

"Our company is in partnership with a local farmer, in Penang, Malaysia.  Presently, few farmers plant vegetables in Malaysia.  They need to be given some confidence that they can actually succeed in growing them.    We would like to establish a  training center in Penang to train trainers on your method of growing vegetables.  These trainers will then train  farmers that will become part of a Farm Cooperative.  This Farm Cooperative will own their own processing and packaging plant, plus the hypermarket in which the produce is sold- as well as a central kitchen.

The farmers now receive income, not just from the sales of the produce at farm prices, but also from the sale of the produce at retail prices as well as having shares in the company that is creating innovative food products for sale to restaurants and households.  This is a poverty alleviation model, and by reviewing the information at your website, we believe that your foundation could be key to the success of our program

Would you have a trainer that would be able to travel to Penang in September?  (Training programs normally take 3 months minimum - JK).

"For many reasons, we would like to begin training by the end of this month or beginning in September, in Malaysia.     Is it possible to train on your system, using only the course manual, if the trainers are already knowledgeable on gardening in Malaysia?  Or conversely, is there anyone that has trained on your system that lives in or close  to Malaysia that would be available to come in September to train our trainers?

The end result being the creation of a training center on a farm here paid for by our group.

We also have a  partner living in Puerto Rico that has a farm.  We want to set up a training center on her farm as well, to train trainers that will be sent to countries in Latin America to develop training centers.

We want to work with you in the creation of these centers with the intent of  collaboration with a local university in Penang that currently graduates students in Agrobiology.  Is that  something that you would be interested in helping to develop?   Honestly, your work has already been done. We would like someone from your group to oversee the development of the training center, that could be a mentor that is assigned and we work through Skype if no trainer is available to come physically.

Working in collaboration with you, we would offer to the University an internship program for their Agro students that then would be taught on the The Mittleider system.  I believe this would be the way to assure standardization of the Mitteider System, as well as assure that your system becomes inherent in government programs.  As many of these students will go on to work in government positions.

Blessings to your group,

Ms Jean Adamson"
