[MittleiderMethodGardening] Corn Gluten for weed control
A recent reply re: dandelions had a reference to Preen in the original post. There are at least three different formulas for Preen--one of which: "Preen Vegetable Garden Organic Weed Preventer" is 100% Corn Gluten.
I've had mixed results with corn gluten as a pre-emergent weed preventer in my garden beds. Half the time it seems to help but often it seems to fertilize the weeds.
Recently, I came across this informative discussion of corn gluten used on lawns that confirms my experiences with a clear explanation. (It's mostly a matter of when it's applied.)
