Re: [MittleiderMethodGardening] T-frame spacing
Being that you will have such a heavy load of produce ... you might want to space them evenly at 9 feet a part .. Only a little waste on a 10 foot board.
Use the extra foot as a stepping block or a prop or .... firewood.
Bobby - about to drive from Southern California to Florida and looking
to see other gardening folks along I-10 and down into Florida. Maybe
I can talk my Dad into raised beds and T frames ... At almost 92 he
quit gardening at age 90 because after bending over ... getting up was
too difficult
I look forward to next years events in Kidder. I will be in Texas for about
4 days this next week. Wish I could be there longer and attend the
seminars. The ones in Phoenix a year ago were great.

We will be putting in soil beds. Our rows will be 36' long (our garden itself is 46' x 20'). All the instructions I have found say to space T-frames 10' apart. Has anyone ever spaced their T-frames 12' apart, and did you run into problems?
Thanks in advanceDaynaDayna Group:If you space your T-Frames further apart that 10' you should plan to place 2 X 4 supports under the center of the wire, pipe, or wood being used to span the distance, as the weight of a large crop can bend and/or break them.Jim Kennard
