Re: [MittleiderMethodGardening] Victoria's Gardens - Tomatoes by the Ton - Bend, Oregon
Hello group
In 2011, I was using Mittleider's Gardening Methods and had a very prosperous garden but the deer and woodchucks also enjoyed it. 2012 I couldn't afford the minerals but had some success. this year I couldn't afford any preplant or weekly feeds and the deer just mowed everything down to the ground. The only thing I had left was tomatoes and some sunberry plants and some heirloom pumpkins but not sure if I will have any of those either. The deer have pretty much destroyed my tomatoes and I won't have anything to can or freeze this year. It is very important to make sure the plants have all 16 elements because they don't grow well and to find a way to keep the animals from eating everything. I am very limited on funds but I keep my dreams going for next season and I have around 50 - 30 beds I am now cleaning the weeds out of and out of the paths. It is a lot of work for one womb-man with limitations but someday my goals will be realized. I have
only been eating green tomatoes until they last and the deer are eating those plus the plants too. It may have been a failure this year but I will try, try again next year and hopefully I will be able to buy most fertilizers before next spring. Have a good night.

Subject: [MittleiderMethodGardening] Victoria's Gardens - Tomatoes by the Ton - Bend, Oregon
Group:
I've told you before about the great garden created by Victoria and Wally Roth in Bend, Oregon. Well, here's an update and some pictures.
These great people have created an amazing commercial - and humanitarian - garden just from studying Let's Grow Tomatoes by Dr. Jacob R. Mittleider.
They did learn a few things from The Mittleider Gardening Course book and a seminar we conducted there as well, but they were already successful before we arrived. Here is her latest report of their growing season. And I've added 3 pictures to the Photo Section:
"Hi Jim,
What a busy summer. We are harvesting between 200-300 pounds of tomatoes a week and sell out every market. Haven't been able to meet the demand yet. Seems the more we grow the bigger my customer base gets. The extra lime really made a difference in the blossom end rot we were seeing.
"It has been quite a hit taking the Model A to market with the tomatoes in the back. People love the little red truck. I quit my full-time night job and am now on call . It is amazing how much more I am accomplishing at home now. We are both doing really well.
We are on the backyard garden tour in the morning. Our community garden is amazing this year. Thousands of pounds of food pouring out of it. 12 people are being fed by it and the excess is being donated to local food banks.
All is well. We think of you both and miss you. Love to your beautiful lady.
Victoria"
I encourage everyone to get serious about following the RECIPE that is the Mittleider System of growing, and make your own gardens the best in YOUR communities.
