[MittleiderMethodGardening] Dimensions and specifications for concrete grow boxes.

Jim

Can you confirm the currently recommended inside dimensions of the grow boxes?

I've read 30' by 18" for the grow beds..
are the boxes the same dimensions?
Is that assumed to be inside dimensions?

I'm also looking at making concrete boxes..
is there a recommendation for their construction?
Wall thickness,
height above soil level?
Depth below soil level?

Robert & Group:

The 18" width is from the top of the ridges in soil-beds, and for boxes it's the outside of the wood when using 1" or 2" treated lumber. In both cases we want to have a 12"-wide planting area. So, for concrete forms it depends on the width of the concrete. Just make sure your actual planting area is at least 12" wide.

Height should be 8", and they should be placed on the existing soil surface.
