Hello everyone! I live in zone9 where I can garden most of the year with
caution. Our summers start early and are hot and humid, and though
winters are mild they can change drastically overnight. I recently lost
all the brassica family plants I had started due to a sudden cold snap
overnight. I knew it was coming and had a makeshift polytunnel for my
babes but the wind blew it off while I was visiting my sister....Real
disappointing as if I dont get this type of plant in the ground early it
will never mature before the heat comes. I have restarted some of them,
and others I plan to buy to replace. I try to use openpollinated , but I
might have to replace some of these with hybrids. Oh well. I live on
almost 2 acre of land and am currently gardening on lest than 1/4 of
that. I also started keeping chickens a year ago and love it.

Glad to be part of the community.
