Vegetables Gardening - Growing Organic Vegetables

Hi Jim & Group,

I was wondering if we can use the Mittleider formula PP & WF for fertilizing lawns so they are lush and healthy.

This is an already established lawn (Korean carpet grass) which has seen better days and currently a bit run down. I just finished mowing it down to 2" and it looks bad with lots of thatch etc. :-(

I thought using PP & WF would help revitalize the lawn because I know you recommend using them for fruit trees, flowering shrubs Etc.

But what is the recommended rate of application of PP & WF for an already established lawn? (and how often per year so it is healthy but not so healthy that I have to mow all the time!!!)

Pre-Plant and Weekly Feed work great on lawns - but don't use them on a regular basis or you'll be mowing 2-3 times per week.

Start with 2# PP and 1# WF in 100 square feet. Add WF at the same rate in 2 weeks and again (if needed) in 4 weeks.
