Re: [MittleiderMethodGardening] Re: GOT AN ANT PROBLEM?
OH yes, I tried it and it brought other ants from far and wide. When I
stopped doing that, they left. Think about it, if you had a nice sugary
source to go to, wouldn't you travel far and wide to get to it? LOL
I am having great success by watering my garden and watching for the ants
that quickly come out of the nest. I pour a little dish detergent in the
hole, add a little water to the mix and it kills the nest. Yes, they come
back eventually when they regroup but this has been the best method I have
found in the past 28 years of fighting ants in my vegetable garden. PLEASE
be careful not to do the soap and water routine near your vegetables. If
the nest is near your vegetables, just disturb that nest and have a spray
bottle of high concentrate soap and water and kill them on their journey
away from the nest. Have done that too.

I tried the artifical sugars last year. did not work for me? has anyone
tried 1 part twenty mule team borax detergent to 3 parts sugar? sound like a
winner boric acid is broadly used in pest control plus its part of JK soil
prep.
