Re: [MittleiderMethodGardening] No car, No job, No money, No insurance, No power, No phone
Hi to GAmountainwoman,
Been thinking about your challenge. It doesn't sound like you have enough
sunlight to do much of any gardening. Could you go to a neighbor who has lots
of sun and offer to create a garden for them if you can harvest a portion? You
could start a business of putting in gardens for people for money or for
produce. There is still time for lots of things to grow. If you are interested
I'll send you a list. Best wishes, Barbara--horsegramma@yahoo.com

Well for us, Taxes have gotten out of control. Retired so on fixed
monthly income and with income greatly reduced our taxes thanks to our
state was $1,500 more than ever before. Dryer breaks down every 6 months.
At least $80 each time so I said no more dryer this time. When something
breaks down we'll live without it. Dh made me an awesome clothes line.
Can handle 3 loads of laundry at one time. Next my desktop computer died.
Family hovered (probably praying!)to see if Mom would give in and get the
computer fixed or get a new one. Nope It's gone and life goes on (now
they are probably praying faithfully over their own computers!) I built a
iceless, powerless fridge a few weeks ago and it works great. So during
the summer we could have a place to keep milk, ect. if the power goes
we'll be fine. Already had it go out for 3 weeks with minus temps and
winds out this world and survived without the furnace and no we didn't
have a wood stove (DH won't let me get one due to 3 of having severe
asthma) We used little emergency heaters made up of TP soaked in rubbing
alcohol. cooked over them and heated with them. Stayed above 50 the whole
time. Have a good garden and our own water supply. we'll make it just
fine. We do have horses and two are broke to pull a wagon but have no
hardware to make that happen but do at least have saddles. US economy is
going down hill fast. Hope you store food and prepare ahead of time so
you will be ready.
