Re: [MittleiderMethodGardening] Guinea fowl in the garden
Guineas aren't much interested in green stuff, they don't scratch much, and they don't trample the ground like ducks. They are death on ticks. Of all the poultry I know, they are the most compatible with gardening. But you won't get significant eggs from them, they are more skittish than chickens or ducks, and they are *very* noisy.

When my chickens are loose, they love the green vegetables as well as the bugs, so I keep them locked up from planting season through late fall. I tried letting 'weeder geese' spend time in my strawberries, but they tromped all over the plants and did more harm than good. Are there people out there who are really finding more help than harm from sharing their garden with their birds?
