[MittleiderMethodGardening] Beneficial Herbs in your garden
I had a conversation with my heirloom gardening friend who successfully grew squash this spring/summer. She had no issues with squash bugs at all. She grew several rows of yarrow, catnip, and mint. It attracted a little black bug - in fact they were everywhere. The bug is good at eating the squash bug eggs.
I don't know the name of the bug. I just remember seeing them completely covering all of her herbs. We took one of the bugs to a friend who raises bees and she confirmed what it was doing.
