Yes you cut the straws in half and then stuff them into the TP tubes. Kids can
paint the tubes with and acrylic paint and that will water proof them for about
2 seasons. Mounting: I put some 4x4x8' standard or better post and sink them
into the garden in cement. Then I sacrifice one of the straws in the center and
use a 5 inch screw and attach them to the post you can get about three side by
side and then every 12 inches vertically starting at about 4 feet off the
ground. Then you mount some Garden Art at the top of the post . Just put the
post randomly through out the garden.

Another way to create nest is to take a block of nontreated wood and drill a
bajillian 1/4 inch holes in it and then you can mount those to fences and
structures.

Also plant flowers in with your veggies. I like doing wild flowers they add
color to the patch and are always blooming ecen when the veggies are not and it
encourages the pollinators to stay around.

wow, sounds kewl ;) Sounds simple enuff.. but do u cut the straws? How long do
you keep the tubes (plans)? Any suggestions for where/how to hang in a very
windy area of the country?
