[MittleiderMethodGardening] Need approval of Gypsum found at ACE hardware
Hi Jim,
While browsing the internet for Gypsum, I found brand name "Encap Fast Acting Gypsum" with AST Soil Conditioner (10610-63) at ACE Hardware. I called my local store and the person there really didn't know much about it. (At least he was honest)
I did have him order some for me, so I am doing this in reverse, but, is this Gypsum going to be okay to use in the recipe since it appears to have added soil conditioner in it? The cost is 17.99 for 30 pounds. I can get it by Monday morning. My other choices are to pay as much shipping and handling as the cost of product or wait until June when the Azure Standard ships. I am not fond of either.
What do you say?
Thanks for your help, Lyn

Lyn & Group:
Gypsum has soil conditioning properties built-in. They have done nothing special.
And the cost they are charging is exhorbitant, especially with shipping. I would continue looking - at Farm Supply, Feed & Grain, Farmers' Cooperatives, Nurseries, and the big box stores. Let your fingers do the walking. Gas is way too expensive.
