Vegetables Gardening - Growing Organic Vegetables

Hi- I am in VA and want to try this method (but already have most of the garden planted this year). Is anyone else on here from VA? What tips can you give me that pertain to our area? I am thinking that if I start getting the materials together I can build the grow boxes and trellises this fall after the current plants are harvested. Has anyone used metal conduit-type pipe or PVC for the trellis instead of wood? What are your recommendations as far as size, etc.? How tall do you usually make them? Thanks for all of your help.
