[MittleiderMethodGardening] Tomato spacing
Hi All,
I am a little confused about the spacing of tomatoes, as
I have read about a 36" spacing in my Garden Wizard/planning cds, but in all the info at this site, 9" seems to be the desired spacing. I have 6 in ground 30 ft.beds, with a planned expansion of 20 more. ( I am serious this year!!) Naturally the spacing will greatly impact how many plants I need, which I have to start now! BTW, do you soak your seeds before planting, as some advocate? Thanks for all the help...

S. & Group:
The Garden Wizard used conventional spacing for many things, regrettably. That's one of the big reasons we created the Garden Planting Details schedule (in the Files section under Gledhill).
For vertically-grown tomatoes we grow in one row 9" apart.
I don't generally soak my seeds.
