[MittleiderMethodGardening] Cat problems!

Not sure if you have problems with rodents in your garden but cats are great
for keeping them out. I have two cats and I actually encourage them to come
in the garden to keep the gophers out. One of my cats keeps all gophers out
of my garden. In the beginning of growing season I keep them out because
the ground is like a big litter box but after it has hardened they don't go
in it anymore. I put chicken wire or cloth down in places I don't want them
to "go". You could also put down straw or something around your plants to
discourage once plants come up.
My cats love to lay in the garden. I provide water for them only in the
garden during the summer months to encourage them to hang out to keep the
critters away. I do not feed them there because I don't want to
encourage raccoons. I tell people a make the garden a "Cat Oasis". I never
have problems with gopher or squirrels but all my neighbors do.
So I would encourage you to consider to try and "live" with them because
they can be helpful. Deter them from using it your garden as a litter box
but encourage their hunting. Hope that helps :)
