[MittleiderMethodGardening] Re: Ground Cherries

I enjoy eating and growing novel fruits and veggies.  Last year I did grew
ground cherries for the first time.  I believe the variety was "goldie".  I grew
some in pots and some in the ground and I do believe they would spread ~18" at
maturity.  Personally, I have opted not to grow them again this year as no one
in my family liked them.  I tend to love a wide variety of things but I found
that  each time a tried these fruits they were not particulary tasty.  I suggest
trying 1-3 plants so you can try them yourself and consider utilizing your
garden space for other things.  One plant at maturity will likely produce ~ 2-4
dozen ground cherries.  Most of mine ended up rotting as no one really liked
them.
