[MittleiderMethodGardening] Fiji Islands Help Needed

Group:

Following is an appeal from some committed folks who are trying to assist the people of Fiji.

Please, those of you in Fiji and who have an interest in this place, check in and make yourselves known.

I will see that the Foundation provides them materials for educastion and training.

Beyond that, those of you living in Fiji can do MUCH to assist, by SHOWING what can be done with the Mittleider Method, giving encouragement, and maybe even a little hands-on training.

And if any of the rest of you desire to help in this particular cause you can donate at the Foundation website www.foodforeveryone.org, and simply tell me at jim@growfood.com that you want to help Fiji. The funds will go 100% to that group's needs.

Here's their communication to me:

"Manawaidina is a self-support empowerment ministry working with 'grassroot' rural communities in the Fiji Islands helping the people become self-sufficient through better management of their time and the readily available natural resources. These are basically subsistence farming village communities faced with a daunting task of keeping up with escalating cost of living which could never be bridged through the traditional/conventional farming methods the people are still using today.

We have been searching for ways and means of making the most of the village communities' traditional plantations when I stumbled across your website jumping for joy when I read about your "Teachers' Virtual Gardening Training Program". We are most interested in becoming part of your great vision as I gratefully realize that your mission of "teaching the world to grow food one family at a time" happens to be exactly what we have been trying to do...empower 'grassroots' rural communities (especially young people and young families) to become productive members of the community self-sufficient instead of being overly dependent on handouts from families, friends and the government.

Could you kindly advise how we can use your Training Program to teach our people. Your assistance is highly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Tereti (Terry) Niqara
