Re: [Organic_Gardening] Japanese Beetles
Hi Sally - we spent all weekend weeding, composting, and spreading milky spore all over the gardens and around the rose bushes. I covered the ground directly around the rose bushes with black landscaping fabric, a little more milky spore on top, and then a new layer of mulch. The rest of the gardens received the same treatment with the milky spore but only the rose bushes were covered with the fabric directly underneath them. Hopefully, this will take care of the grubs. As for the JBs - This week I'm planning on spraying ( very carefully) neem oil on the plants and Bugs.
I'll keep you informed of my successes and failures regarding the JBs.

Secondly, you can flood it/coat it with something lethal (eg milky spore), or something sticky (eg cheap margarine). If you use margarine then scrape it and burn the margarine bugs and all.
